Horth couldn't spare any concentration to decode Sandar's words. He sank one leg out behind him, lowered his weight onto the other, and prepped his body for action.

Sandar laughed. "You can't stop all their thrusts, Horth." Then he snarled, "Take him!"

The four men lunged as one. Horth shot up and around in a backward spin. Four sword points gouged into his flesh at different points, lancing like hot pokers: one along his ribs, one across his hip, as his twisting body channeled their force outward, away from his core, and away from his organs. But that had not been the hard part; the great difficulty had been to gauge the level of his blade's sweep efficiently. the men where not all the same height, and the huge, lighting-fast three-hundred-and-sixty-degree slash of Horth's blade could not land in exactly the same place on each man.
