Okal Rel Universe: Real People

last updated Aug 29, 2000

Dedicated to those whose interest, feedback, friendship, input and appreciation kept us from losing our "grip". - lynda

Lynn Jennyc

Lynn Jennyc, editor
and Brian Hades, publisher
at Edge Fantasy and Science Fiction

For caring enough to work with us, liking the result enough to publish, and having the faith to market the books.

Mike Bonde, also of Edge, for keeping in touch.

Lynda's Family

David Lott -- for reading it all, and getting annoyed when the "facts" changed between versions. A unique way for a husband to prove he cares.

.Holly and IHolly Williams -- for her sisterly support and promotion, and for reading the dueling scenes to her children.

Jennifer Lott, (12) -- for conducting the Lynda's very first author's interview, and loving books

Edel Toner-Rogala -- for believing in me even if she is afraid to spoil that by reading the books. :-).

Cecilia Tan, of Circlet Press -- for publishing Amel's first appearance in print.
Kathy Wright (nee Perrault) who shared an earlier version of the universe with Lynda through late elementary school and high school years.

Vicky Andrews -- Lynda's co-worker at the Prince George School District library automation project, who listened to the stories before they were written down...and was convincingly vexed with Lynda for killing off Di Mon.
Holly Ann Burt -- who Lynda met at her first ever Science Fiction con (WesterCon in the 80s?) and became a correspondent. Don't have any pictures of Holly. That's me, Lynda, on the stage portraying an early version of a Vrellish woman.Holly was the second person I ever met who ran her own universe. :-)

Sue Matheson, English prof and co-comrade in the launch of Reflection on Water, who made me read the "Ev'rel and Amel in the hot tub scene" to her Creative Writing class when I was getting cold feet for once in my life.

Kyle Horne for liking some of the space faring stuff his mom passed along to him.

Susan Herzog, mentor of an amazing collection of young poets in McKenzie BC., for having me out to read.

Elizabeth Wood, for subjecting her Grade 10 English class to my first out-pouring of how it all began.

Allan Bate, for being interested in the naughty bits.:-)

Teachers: Margaret Cameron, David Wilson and Mr. Elias, PGSS.

Bill V. at UVic, for teaching me writers had to learn craft, and Serge, for encouraging me to write from the heart.

Margaret Sherring, for reading and insisting that she loved, the original -- lon-n-g and complicated version of the first book, Second Contact now called Courtesan Prince.

Kathy Plett, for reading and commenting instructively on chunks as they came along.

Denise Goodkey, for reserving the right for a first PG interview once Throne Price is out.

Godfrey Hall, for reading early versions and valuing the writer in me.

Stanley Makepeace-Lott, for being tactful about what I needed to learn.

Brandy Bernard, for introducing me to Flash Animation. Gary McKivet for the "Countdown to Second Contact" clock and enjoying Ann.

Algis Budrys, for the positive words on the first of my two honorary mentions in the "Writers of the Future" contest.

Mark J. McGarryMark J. McGarry for publishing my "Fanga" stories in his first Sci Fi fanzine, Empire, and making the world of writing tangible. (Yes, this was a lon-ng time ago folks.)

David Juniper, who listened and liked the way the Universe worked. He also looks great in his Okal Rel T-Shirt but I haven't got a picture of that.

...and also the other students of the CTL who put up with me showing them bits this web site and other evidence of my enthusiasm getting out of hand..
