Okal Rel science fiction books - turning a dance move into slaughter: four to one

Writer-daughter Jennifer Lott's 2013 Xmas gift to Lynda Williams was an Okal Rel quote of the day stack for 2014, featuring intriguing snapshots of the ORU adventure from all titles in the series: Saga, Legacies and online.

From novella Horth in Killing Reach by Craig Bowlsby.

Horth couldn't spare any concentration to decode Sandar's words. He sank one leg out behind him, lowered his weight onto the other, and prepped his body for action.

Sandar laughed. "You can't stop all their thrusts, Horth." Then he snarled, "Take him!"

The four men lunged as one. Horth shot up and around in a backward spin. Four sword points gouged into his flesh at different points, lancing like hot pokers: one along his ribs, one across his hip, as his twisting body channeled their force outward, away from his core, and away from his organs. But that had not been the hard part; the great difficulty had been to gauge the level of his blade's sweep efficiently. the men where not all the same height, and the huge, lighting-fast three-hundred-and-sixty-degree slash of Horth's blade could not land in exactly the same place on each man.

Exchange with Ashley Tia about her interview on Reality Skimming, coupled with news from Elizabeth Woods about her writing contest heating up, is giving me ideas for "story" on Reality Skimming.

Started making connections with people met at Chicon 7, for future interviews on Reality Skimming. Connecting them with Tegan to coordinate. Richard Bartrop has agreed to do sketches of ORU tech for VCON booklet. Work up this morning dreaming I missed Craig Bowlsby's book launch, for his well-researched history of regional hockey, KNIGHTS OF WINTER: Hockey in British Columbia: 1895-1911. Woke to recall it wasn't a nightmare. I had missed the launch. &^^%$ I got sick the night before and conked out. Was looking forward to it! Must get a copy. I know just who I want to give it to, for Xmas.
